We invite you to the international conference accompanying the thirteenth edition of the Festival of High Temperatures. The conference is a place to talk about broadly defined art created with fire. Our guests will be talking about technological issues, history, aesthetic and formal considerations, as well as presenting their individual works.
We have invited nine outstanding speakers from Poland, Belgium, USA, Belarus, Lithuania, Great Britain who are going to share their knowledge and passion through 20-minute lectures. Among them Frederik Rombach, Eglė Einikyte-Narkevičienė, Hanna Miadzvedzeva, Adam Abel, John Moran, Adam Włodarczyk, Jono Retallick, Lisa Evans, Kurt Dyrhaug. The lectures will be divided into three sections: ceramics, metal and glass. After the lectures, we plan to show films about the processes and creators related to the art of fire, which were shot as part of this year’s Festival at the studios of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.

Moderators:
Jagoda Nowak-Bieganowska – graduate of Art and Glass Design at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. Currently a third-year student of the Inter-Faculty Doctoral Studies. She is interested in observing people and their relations in a technical review. Looking at the surrounding world, he tries to comment on reality by catching tiny, generally unnoticeable moments in everyday life. They become a pretext for research, artistic research and social activities. She was one of the conference moderators as part of the 12th edition of the Festival of High Temperatures.
Sarah Epping (born 1990, USA) – In 2012 she moved to Germany, in 2013 she worked as a designer in India. In 2016, she graduated from the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław with “excellent” results. PhD student in the third year of studies at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, her promoter of artistic graphics is prof. Przemysław Tyszkiewicz. Over the past three years, she has participated in over 60 international exhibitions and received awards in two competitions in 2019. In 2020, her works were presented at the “Open-Out” festivals in Norway and “Survival” in Wrocław. Her prints are in the collections of the Museum of Chinese Graphics in China, the Mark Arts Foundation in the USA and the Graphics Museum in Poznań and Łódź.
