Agâh Barış Can Aksakal – a Turkish master of glassworking techniques, will be one of the festival visiting artists this year.
During his demonstration entitled “Emotional persona” he will be demonstrating his own, unique hand galssworking methods. The public will witness the process of creating glass figure sculptures straight from the artist’s scatchbook. These figures will represent different emotions and experiences, each of them being an emotional self-portrait of Agâh Barış Can Aksakal.
Agâh Barış Can Aksakal was born in Aydın in 1989. He went to Başak Private School for his primary and secondary education. He studied painting at Yüksel Yalova High School of Fine Arts. In 2009 Aksakal entered the Glass Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Anadolu University. While studying at Anadolu University, he attended many courses not only in Turkey but also the United States. He also worked glass art objects at the Glass Furnace in Istanbul. He received a grant from Corning Glass Museum in New York.
